UK Breaks All-Time Temperature Record At 39.1 Degrees
Over 40 degrees Celsius were the average temperature for Brits on Monday and Tuesday.

Digital Desk: A record high temperature of 39.1C (102.4F) has tentatively been reported in Charlwood, Surrey, in southern England, the British Met Office said.

"If confirmed this will be the highest temperature ever recorded in the UK. Temperatures are likely to rise further through today," the Met Office said on Twitter.

In 2019, the Cambridge University Botanic Garden set a new record of 38.7C.

Meanwhile, as hot, dry weather scorches continental Europe, the United Kingdom has issued a red alert, the nation's first-ever excessive heat warning. This is one of the rarest occurrences.

Over 40 degrees Celsius were the average temperature for Brits on Monday and Tuesday.

The highest temperature ever recorded in Britain was 38.7 degrees Celsius in 2019, according to the UK Met Office.

The extreme heat and lack of rain that are causing numerous large wildfires in France, Spain, and other parts of Europe are a reflection of the current heat in Britain.
