Numerous hotels in Bengaluru reportedly took down the "rain dance" from their Holi promotional materials following a directive from the BWSSB.
Digital Desk: Twenty-two Bengaluru residents were fined Rs 5,000 for using Cauvery water for non-essential use during the current water crisis. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has reportedly collected Rs 1.1 lakh in fines so far, as per a story published in the Deccan Herald.
According to the report, the BWSSB reacted to social media complaints alleging people were squandering drinking water on pointless activities like gardening and car washes. It went on to say that the authority's southern division is renowned for having strict measures against water waste.
On March 25 of last week, the city's authorities issued certain rules for the Holi celebrations. The board has advised against utilizing Cauvery or borewell water for rain dances or pool parties on behalf of commercial and recreational establishments in honor of the festival of color.

Karnataka's Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, announced that authorities have been directed to convene every day to create an action plan for dealing with the water shortage. There is a 500 million liters per day (MLD) shortfall in the tech city compared to the 2,600 MLD required.
