New Delhi: The Indian government has issued revised travel guidelines for its international passengers amid Omicron scare as the world grapples with the new Covid variant first detected in South Africa. The new travel guidelines will be effective from December 1.
The Central government has also made it compulsory to submit 14 days travel details, uploading negative RT-PCR test report on Air Suvidha portal before the journey.

As per Health Ministry’s guidelines, travellers from ‘countries at-risk’ will need to take Covid test post arrival and wait for results at airport. If tested negative they’ll follow, home quarantine for 7 days. Re-test on 8th day and if negative, further self-monitor for next 7 days.
Health Ministry guidelines: Travellers from countries excluding those ‘countries at risk’ will be allowed to leave airport & shall self-monitor health for 14 days. A sub-section (5% of total flight passengers) shall undergo post-arrival testing at random at the airport on arrival
The countries assigned at-risk by the government are – South Africa, China, the United Kingdom, European countries, Bangladesh, Brazil, Botswana, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong, Singapore and Israel.
