Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a man was allegedly caught on camera raping a stray dog. The incident came to light after animal activists shared the video on social media. The Delhi Police has filed an FIR against the culprit.
The FIR was lodged against the accused based on a complaint filed by an animal rights NGO. In their complaint, the NGO stated that the man is a repeat offender and that the video showing him raping a stray dog was recorded from under the door of his Subhash Nagar warehouse.
A volunteer of an NGO, People For Animals said, “After repeated complaints and video proofs against the accused, we approached the police to register a case. We provided all the details available to the cops and requested an FIR."
The volunteer further stated, "Only after an intervention from the senior officer, an FIR was filed against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC. However, despite the FIR, the accused has not been arrested so far."
The culprit was allegedly seen on camera raping the stray dog on September 6 according to the complainants. The complaint stated that although the accused had stolen the victim's phone, it had been returned following the police's intervention.
"He was once again caught raping the stray on September 13. He used to lure the stray into his created warehouse, where he would rape her. We approached the police as soon as we learned about this," the volunteer said.
However, the police stated that before taking any action, they must first identify the suspect in the video.
According to a senior police officer, a FIR was filed against the accused on September 15 at the Rajouri Garden police station in violation of sections 268, 377, 428, and 429 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Act No. 11 to Prevent Cruelty to Animals. We'll start by confirming the accused's identity because the accused's face isn't clearly visible in the video and further legal action would be taken soon," a senior police official stated.
