Digital Desk: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticised the investigative agency on Friday, stating, "The Enforcement Directorate was roaming around more than strays," following the Enforcement Directorate's raid on the homes of a few Congress officials in Rajasthan the previous day.
Gehlot said, "More than dogs, it's the Enforcement Directorate that is on the prowl in the country," during a press conference in Jaipur.
The Chief Minister went on to say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was "following his 'guarantee model'."
"The heads of the CBI and Enforcement Directorate have turned into political weapons after I asked for more time. It appears that Modi Ji is unaware that his countdown has started. He is now adhering to our 'guarantee model'," Gehlot stated.
Enforcement Directorate agents summoned the son of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in connection with a foreign exchange violation on Thursday, and they also raided the offices of state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra in Jaipur and Sikar as part of a money laundering investigation into the alleged test paper leak case.
The agency investigated the homes of many other people as well as the 59-year-old Dotasra, a former minister for school education, and a party candidate from Dausa's Mahua constituency.
The Prevention of Money Laundering Act's (PMLA) guidelines were followed when the raids were carried out.
The nation has been inundated with dread, according to Chief Minister Gehlot, who criticised the action even on Thursday. He said that since they were unable to overthrow his government, the BJP was using these raids as a means of attacking him.
On November 25, elections will be conducted to fill 200 seats in the Rajasthan Assembly.
It is to be noted that the results will be declared on December 3.
