Baghel's remarks, made at a public event, coincide with the BJP-led NDA MPs choosing Narendra Modi as their leader and the presumptive next Prime Minister.
"Party workers, be prepared. There is going to be a mid-term election between six months and one year," Baghel declared, hinting at potential political upheaval on the horizon.
