Digital Desk: Over 40 percent of eligible voters exercised their franchise by 1 p.m. in the ongoing Rajasthan assembly elections, according to officials. The polling, encompassing 199 assembly constituencies, commenced at 7 a.m. and is scheduled to conclude at 6 p.m. Reports indicate that the voting percentage at 1 p.m. stood at 40.27, reflecting a substantial increase from the 24.74 percent recorded by 11 a.m.

Noteworthy were the impressive voter turnouts in specific constituencies, with Kaman leading at 38.56 percent and Tijara at 34.08 percent by 11 a.m. The fate of 1,862 candidates hangs in the balance as more than 5.25 crore voters participate in the electoral process. Unfortunately, due to the untimely demise of a Congress candidate, polling in the Karanpur assembly constituency in Sriganganagar has been postponed, with vote counting slated for December 3.
