Digital Desk: India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day with grand festivities at Kartavya Path, New Delhi while displaying the military force of the nation together with its glorious cultural legacy. President Droupadi Murmu leads the celebrations during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays a wreath at the National War Memorial as part of homage to soldiers who lost their lives. India's Republic Day holds remarkable importance because it celebrates the seventy six anniversary of the Constitution's original implementation.
The Republic Day ceremony welcomes Leader Prabowo Subianto, president of Indonesia as the guest of honor while accepting a 352-member Indonesian force to join the celebratory parade. The Republic Day parade will commence at 10:30 AM, President Murmu will take the salute while ten thousand special invitees will witness the entire parade.
For the parade 31 tableaux will march while 16 represent states and UTs along with 15 tableaux participating from central ministries. The tableaux will highlight the theme ‘Swarnim Bharat: The cultural heritage and developmental achievements of India will be the focus point at 'Virasat aur Vikas.' The public display will unveil revolutionary military weapons that include the BrahMos missile with the Pinaka rocket system, Akash air defense system alongside the DRDO’s ‘Pralay’ tactical missile. The Indian armed forces will unite through their combined tableau at the parade.
The 61 Cavalry serves as the globally unique horsed cavalry regiment that will command the mounted column during the parade. Women veteran officers from each of the three defense forces will carry forward "nari shakti." Among the flying aircraft during the aerial display will be 40 planes of the Indian Air Force which will contain C-130J Super Hercules and Su-30 fighter aircraft. Riding experts from the Corps of Signals will stage an adrenaline-pumping motorcycle show during the spectacle.
A series of cultural performances presented by 5,000 artists will take place at Kartavya Path, while Delhi police remains on high high alert status with their advanced security systems coupled with 70,000 personnel to ensure daily operations remain secure throughout all events.
