Taj Mahal, The Pride of India, Again under Question of Ownership
Taj Mahal or Tejo Mahalaya? The Seventh Wonder of the World has been the subject of intense debate for a long time.

Digital Desk: Eminent journalist Sagarika Ghose has also discussed this issue in her latest book ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” in detail.

Many from the Hindu community believe that there is an idol of a Hindu deity; however, Muslims are not ready to accept it. Taj Mahal is a pride of India and Shah Jahan made it. This tussle between the Taj Mahal or Tejo Mahalaya has also knocked on the court’s door. The archeological survey of India has confirmed that there were no such idols of Hindu deities inside the Taj Mahal.

Last Friday, a petition was filed in Allahabad High Court, requesting the opening of 20 rooms within the Taj Mahal. The case was brought by Rajneesh Singh, the BJP’s media in-charge in the Ayodhya district. Singh claimed that the rooms might contain Hindu idols. However, the petition was dismissed by the High Court at the hearing.

Those 22 rooms are considered to be closed, but AFI claimed that the rooms were not permanently closed this time. They recently reopened for routine maintenance. Furthermore, none of their records includes proof of temples or idols of gods and goddesses. As a result, ASI believes the Hindutva group’s assertion is untrue. They even stated that there was a problem. Moreover, no hardcore proof can be found of the Taj Mahal being Tejo Mahalaya.

This is a big and never-ending debate going on for ages, and the debate might not see the light of the day ever.

Meanwhile, Emperor Shah Jahan’s grandson Prince Yakub Habeebuddin Tucy challenges BJP MP Diya Kumari over her claim that the Taj Mahal was built on the land belonging to Jaipur Royal Family.

‘If you have even a drop of Rajput blood within you, show those documents proving the land deal she claimed,” Tucy said.

According to BJP MP Dia Kumari, the Taj Mahal was erected on the estate of Jaipur’s Raja Joy Singh. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan ruled over this territory. “We have paperwork indicating the land belongs to the Jaipur royal family,” says Diya, a member of the Jaipur royal family.
