'No Purchase No Sale': Petrol pumps to remain closed across NE from March 30 to April 1

Digital Desk: The North East India Petroleum Dealer's Association (NEIPDA) (GGU) has announced a protest closure of 'No Purchase No Sale' from 5:00 AM on March 30 to 5:00 AM on April 1. This move comes amidst unresolved issues regarding commission enhancement and other demands.

Kabindra Oja, vice president of NEIPDA (GGU), emphasized the mounting expenses faced by retail outlet (RO) owners while commission rates remained stagnant for over seven years. The decision was made during a General Meeting held at Uzan Bazar on March 28, where members discussed grievances concerning the lack of commission rate revisions since 2017.

In a letter addressed to all oil companies, NEIPDA (GGU) expressed disappointment over the absence of a response to their concerns despite reaching out on February 3. The association stated that the protest closure aims to draw attention to dealer rights and the necessity of addressing their grievances.

NEIPDA (GGU) reiterated its stance in the letter, highlighting the challenges faced by dealers in sustaining their operations amidst escalating expenses. The association further informed electronic and print media outlets about the protest closure period to ensure widespread awareness of their demands.
