    Digital Desk: The Lok Sabha elections in Meghalaya successfully concluded today, with a total voter turnout of 69.91% recorded by 5 PM, as per the statement made by BDR Tiwari, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) for the state. The Shillong Parliamentary Constituency (PC) witnessed a voter turnout of 70.26%, while Tura had a participation rate of 69.39%.


    Tiwari expressed contentment with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections, highlighting that there were no reports of violence or disturbances during the polling process. He also mentioned that a few EVMs required minor replacements to ensure their smooth functioning, which were promptly addressed and installed within the stipulated time.


    IAS Tiwari, who supervised the polling operations, lauded the effective collaboration among authorities to maintain the integrity and efficiency of the electoral process. With the elections concluding without any significant incidents, the authorities are confident about the credibility and fairness of the results.
