As Parliament resumes at 11 a.m. for the second day of the no-confidence motion, expectations are high for a lively and intense 16-hour debate that is projected to extend till Thursday, August 10, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to give his reply.
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury confirmed on Wednesday that Rahul Gandhi would lead the Opposition's charge during the debate, effectively positioning the Congress party as the torchbearer of discontent and criticism against the Modi government's policies and actions.
The opening salvo of this no-confidence motion was fired by Congress Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi on Tuesday. Gogoi stated that the Opposition brought forth this motion in solidarity with the people of Manipur, signaling their concerns and grievances over the government's handling of the situation in the state.
