The husband of the deceased, Indrani Tahbildar, had initiated the inquiry by filing a First Information Report (FIR) at the Chandmari Police Station. Subsequently, the investigation into the matter has led to the lodging of two distinct cases numbered 318/23 and 325/23. These cases have now divided the focus of the investigation into two crucial fronts.
The first case, bearing number 318/23, is centered around the unauthorized dissemination and proliferation of intimate and objectionable images of Indrani Tahbildar. Preliminary findings suggest that the circulation of these private images may have been a contributing factor in driving her to take the extreme step of ending her own life.
