The MoU was signed at Oil India Limited's (OIL) field headquarters in Duliajan, Assam.
Digital Desk: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Oil India Limited (OIL) and five renowned colleges in the Northeast.
On Wednesday, OIL and premier institutions from Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh signed the agreement (October 12).
The agreement was signed by Oil India Limited (OIL) with Gauhati University and Dibrugarh University in Assam, Manipur University, Nagaland University, and Rajiv Gandhi University in Arunachal Pradesh.
Dr Paramananda Sonowal, Registrar of Dibrugarh University; Prof Ratul Mahanta, Academic Registrar of Gauhati University; Prof WC Singh, Registrar of Manipur University; Dr Anthony V Richa, Deputy Registrar of Nagaland University; and Dr Chandra Sekaran, Assistant Professor of Rajiv Gandhi University signed the MoU.
Dr. Ranjit Rath, chairman and managing director of Oil India Limited (OIL), as well as other functional directors, resident chief executive officers, and senior university representatives, attended the MoU signing ceremony in Duliajan, Assam.
Dr. Ranjit Rath emphasised the importance of such strategic alliances in order to synergize diverse efforts from the E&P business and academics with a vision for capacity building and fulfilling expanding demand for oil and gas, hence developing new enterprises for a future energy-efficient India.
The major goal of the MoU is to strengthen Northeast universities' research and development capabilities, as well as to improve Northeast geology understanding.
One of the main goals of this pact, which is in line with Northeast India's Hydrocarbon Vision 2030, is to create a platform for industry-academic collaboration, which can help not only in creating skilled and effective labour but also in working together to ensure the nation's energy security.
These respected institutions' academic expertise will benefit OIL's business activities, just as OIL's practical skills will aid academic research at these universities.
Because of these connections, both OIL and academic institutions will be better prepared to face future difficulties.
