constituency, passed away on Monday. He was 71.
color:#252525">According to sources, Basumatary had been battling a chronic
disease for a long time. He breathed his last this evening at his residence.
color:#252525">Besides Mazbat, Basumatary was also elected as an MLA from the
Paneri constituency for a term.
color:#252525">Basumatary was a senior leader of the Bodoland People’s Front
(BPF) before joining the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) in 2020. He is
considered one of the well-known Bodo leaders in the Bodo society.

has been keeping unwell, at his Rowta residence in Udalguri district and
enquired about his health. Wished him a speedy recovery and assured him all
possible Govt support in his treatment," CM Sarma tweeted.
