This year boys outperformed girls in the examination.
Desk: The HSLC results of 2025 have been announced, today, 11th 2025 at 10:30 am. This year's overall pass percentage saw a noticeable drop from last year, although several outstanding academic outcomes became apparent.
The state topper Amishi Saikia from Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School, Jorhat secured 98.50 points in the exams. Saptarswa Bordoloi from Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, Noonmati, Guwahati stood at the second position after scoring 98.33%. Anirban Borgohain from Pragya Academy achieved the 3rd position with an excellent score of 98.17% alongside his fellow schoolmate.
Among districts, Sivasagar maintained the highest pass percentage rate at 85.55% which stood above the figures reported by Dibrugarh at 81.10% and Dhemaji at 80.64%. This year, a total of 4,22,737 students appeared for the HSLC examination.
The standardized pass percentage for 2025 dropped significantly to 63.98% as students performed better in the 2024 HSLC examination, where 75.70% was the passing rate. Despite the decline, the results were declared swiftly, within just 38 days of the exams being conducted.
This year, boys achieved better results than girls. The HSLC pass rate for male candidates stood at 67.59%, and female candidates achieved 61.09%.
The schools will distribute examination mark sheets through their offline systems. The dedicated online portal operates from 14th April to allow students to submit re-evaluation applications for their answer scripts. The online submission process for re-evaluation applications accepts all subject requests.
The decline in success rate creates concern yet the outstanding topper results offer hope to the entire student population across the state.
