During his journey from Delhi to Dubai on an Emirates flight, CM Sarma met a "kind young gentleman" who lent his devices.
Digital Desk: The Internet has advised Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to get his phone checked after his X post on a fellow passenger, who lent him an international charger and cable. However, CM Sarma could not return the devices as he fell asleep and the fellow passenger left the flight.
During his journey from Delhi to Dubai on an Emirates flight, CM Sarma met a "kind young gentleman" who lent his devices.
After reaching Amsterdam, Sarma posted an apology on X and said, "Today morning I traveled on an Emirates flight from Delhi To Dubai, where a king young gentleman lent me his international plug and charging cable. Unfortunately, he disembarked in Dubai while I was asleep, and I couldn't return them."
CM Sarma added that he felt deeply apologetic as he could not return the unknown man's devices. So, he requested the man to send a direct message and he would manage to return the accessories. He also expressed his gratitude for the help.
His post has captured people's attention and they praised CM Sarma for his humility and honesty. However, some of the netizens have a different view and expressed concerns that it could be an attempt of "juice-jacking."
People who alerted CM Sarma of potential cyberattack said that he should be very mindful while accepting accessories from unknown person.
Juice jacking is a type of security exploit for devices like smartphones and tablets where public USB ports are used to steal data from devices.
