    Maligaon Flyover to be completed before Bohag Bihu, says CM Himanta

    The CM added that the Guwahati flyover at Zoo Road, which is now under development, will be finished before the Bohag Bihu in 2024.

    Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, expressed hope on Friday that he will
    be able to officially open the Maligoan flyover for commuters after "Bohag
    Bihu" in 2019.



    The Assam Chief Minister
    was addressing at the flyover's opening ceremony in Arya Nagar, close to
    Sarabbhati, which was attended by the general public today.



    The Maligoan overpass is
    about four kilometres long, according to CM Sarma. After Bohag Bihu, we intend
    to make it accessible to the general public.



    The CM added that the
    Guwahati flyover at Zoo Road, which is now under development, will be finished
    before the Bohag Bihu in 2024.



    He continued by saying,
    "We have some major ideas. I want to construct a flyover that will stretch
    six kilometres from Handique College to Bamunimaidam. The construction won't
    start until the flyovers over Maligaon and Zoo Road are finished.



    CM Sarma provided more
    details about his plans when he remarked, "A flyover will be built in
    front of Cycle Factory. Additionally, after a year and a half, the bridge
    between Guwahati and North Guwahati will be finished.



    The Palasbari to
    Suwalkuchi flyover will be built starting in 2019. Additionally, a flyover will
    appear at Baihata Chariali. Additionally, construction of the Narangi to Kuruwa
    flyover would start soon, he said.



    The Assam Chief Minister
    also presented city plans for a second ropeway. We intend to construct a
    ropeway connecting Khanapara with the airport in Borjhar, he declared.



    The Assam government,
    according to CM Sarma, has given the populace 3,000 water connections. We are
    hoping to expand the number to 10,000 this year, he said.



    "With the aid of
    JICA, we will provide water connections in every home by 2023. We hope to
    supply water through both of the plans by 2024," he added.
