Virat Kohli breaks record, first Indian captain to lose World Cup Vs. Pakistan in 29 years

New Delhi: For the first time in the history of Indian cricket, Indian skipper Virat Kohli became the first Indian captain to lose a World Cup match against Pakistan in 29 years after a crushing 10-wicket defeat in the opening game of the Super 12s T20 World Cup match at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

Pakistan began their T20 World Cup match with an impressive win over their arch-rival India by 152 in 17.5 overs to register their first-ever win in the shortest format.

This was Pakistan's first triumph by 10 wickets against any opposition in a T20 match. On the other hand, India also faced a disheartening defeat for the first time in a World cup match, even if it was for a short format.

After being installed to bat first on Sunday, Kohli's 57 runs helped India succeed in 151 for 7 in 20 overs.

Speaking about Kohli's innings, the Indian captain scored 226 runs against Pakistan in the T20 World Cups and has been dismissed only once.

However, the India captain played well against their arch-rival on Sunday, but the final score was not enough to stop Pakistan from winning in the T20 World Cup match.
