Digital Desk: At the end of 4th day's play, the host nation Australia is at 228/9 with a lead of 333 runs in the 4th Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Coming for batting in the second innings of the 4th test in Melbourne, Australia lost early wickets. They lost their 6 crucial wickets in just 91 runs. In this critical situation, skipper Pat Cummins came to the team's rescue and scored 41 runs off 90 balls.

But he lost his wicket at the hands of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. After his wicket, Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland made an important 55-run partnership. Marnus Labuschagne was the highest scorer for Australia in the second innings as he scored 70 runs for the team.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah again performed brilliantly for the team claiming 4 wickets. Bumrah got Sam Konstas, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, and Alex Carey's wicket. Pacer Mohammed Siraj claimed wickets of Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Steve Smith. Ravindra Jadeja took skipper Pat Cummins' wicket.

Earlier on Sunday, India resumed the fourth day's play at 358-9 but could not survive for a long time. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who smashed his maiden century on Saturday, lost his wicket after scoring 114 runs. The partnership between Nitish and all-rounder Washington Sundar helped India achieve a competitive score of 369-10.
