Digital Desk: A soaring cost of living has forced many people to take on odd jobs to make ends meet, but one woman in the United States (US) has gone viral after revealing how much she earns as a topless maid in a day. Sammie, a TikTok user from Tampa, Florida, said she charges $300 per hour and earns about $2,230 (over Rs 1.8 lakh) in gross wages per day.
"So many of you have asked how much I make as a topless maid in a day," the content creator said in a video. "Today, I cleaned five houses for $300 per hour. And I have a security guard who sits in the car and waits for me in case something goes wrong."
"It was $300 for the second house, and they gave me a $120 tip," she added.
But wait until you hear about the guard's severance. Sammi explained that she gives the security guard 30% of her earnings. TikToker sleuths calculated his pay and concluded that it is a fairly well-paying gig - especially for a job that does not require baring your chest.
"So he made $800 while you made $1400? For him to sit outside, just in case? His job requires far less effort, "a comment read.
The Florida native mentioned in a previous video on February 19th that she learned about this profession from a friend who also provides similar services. She had never heard of anyone providing such services in her area and was eager to give it a try.
"I enjoy cleaning and being topless. So I contacted everyone on my other platform and said, 'hey, if you're over the age of 18 and want your house cleaned, DM me,' "According to narcity, Sammi stated.
Initially, there was little interest in her offering, with only a few people expressing an interest in what she was doing. However, after she modified her marketing strategy to use the term "topless maid," she reported that her DMs were "flooded".
