    6.8 magnitude earthquake jolts northern Japan

    Tokyo: A 6.8 magnitude earthquake jolted Japan’s northeastern cost on Saturday. However, there is no any instruction regarding Tsunami occurrences in the region of northeast Japan.

    According to the geological survey the earthquake hits around 10:27 am at the depth of 47 kilometers, in the Pacific, off Ishinomaki in Miyagi prefecture.

    A local government spokesman Tomoki Sawata said “We are still collecting information but have not received any reports of injuries or damage.”

    Some sections of expressways and train services were suspended as precautions due to the jolt felt in Tokyo. The nation is continuously hit by such quakes as it lies around the earthquake prone areas. Perhaps, the public broadcaster NHK said there were no immediate reports of damage.
