    Appeasement politics begin: Sonowal, Himanta head off to Hojai to appease Shiladitya

    New Delhi: With each passing day, one gets to enjoy the exciting political development taking place in Assam in the recent time. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and NEDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma took off for Hojai to make last ditch efforts to prevent imminent BJP debacle in the Central Assam constituency.

    After being denied a ticket from Hojai by BJP for the upcoming elections, Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev showed his angst and took to social media to post that he is being “kicked out from BJP”. Later he even announced that he will be contesting the elections as an independent candidate.

    However, state minister for health Pijush Hazarika tried to dissuade Shiladitya Dev from contesting as an independent candidate, but all his efforts were futile. Following this, CM Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma have departed for Hojai to appease Shiladitya Dev.
