Berlin: Germany restricted entry of travelers from India with immediate effect on the Covid-19 situation. It has classified India as a coronavirus high incidence area.
Germany will send oxygen and medical help to India in the upcoming days to tackle its Covid-19 situation, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.

India is at an alarming stage of the second wave of the infectious disease, with the number of cases surging by 3,49,691 in the past 24 hours, the fourth straight day of record peaks. Hospitals are running out of medical oxygen which is leading to increase in the death ratio.

From Monday onwards, Germans arriving from India will only be allowed to enter the country with a negative test result and will have to begin with 14 day quarantine. Foreign travelers coming from India will no longer be allowed to enter Germany.

“Germany stands in solidarity with India and is urgently preparing a mission of support to the country,” German Chancellor Angela Merkal.
