    Mahatma Gandhi’s statue vandalized, authorities suspect monkeys’ role

    Bhopal: An incident has come to light wherein a statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was found damaged in Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh. An investigation has been launched for the same which is located at the Government Higher Secondary School at Gujarbardia in Mandsaur.

    The incident allegedly took place on Tuesday night, said Additional Superintendent of Police Amit verma.





    The Mandsaur Superintendent of Police told the press that they have registered a case in connection with the incident. Further, a probe has been launched to find out who damaged the statue of the revered leader.

    The SP said they were investigating various aspects in the probe, including the possibility of monkeys damaging the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

    He stated that as per the preliminary investigation, no human movement was seen near or inside the school premises and the watchman was also on duty till 8 pm. He added that monkeys had damaged another statue on a previous occasion.
