Mukesh Ambani Buys One of India’s most Expensive Cars, Check the Price

Digital Desk: Reliance Industries (RIL), led by India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, has purchased a Rs 13.14 crore ultra-luxury Rolls Royce hatchback. According to RTO officials, it is one of the most expensive car transactions in the country’s history.

Reportedly, RIL registered the automobile, a Rolls Royce Cullinan petrol type, at the Tardeo Regional Transport Office in South Mumbai on January 31.

The car’s base price was Rs 6.95 crore when it was first launched in 2018, but auto industry analysts say customization would have risen the price significantly.

According to RTO officials, the company chose the ‘Tuscan Sun’ colour for the 12-cylinder automobile, weighing over 2.5 tonnes and producing 564 BHP. It also acquired a distinctive number plate.

RIL has paid a one-time tax of Rs 20 lakh for the car’s registration, which is valid until January 30, 2037, as well as a road safety charge of Rs 40,000.

According to one RTO officer, this could be the costliest car ever purchased in India.

RIL also paid Rs 12 lakh for a VIP number for its new car, which belongs to its chairman and managing director.

Officials say the number ended in “0001.”

A VIP number usually costs Rs 4 lakh, but because the chosen number in the present series had already been taken, a new series had to be launched.

RTO offices can create a new series for assigning registration mark 0001 with written approval from the Transport Commissioner, for which the applicant must pay three times the amount stipulated for a standard number, they stated.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan was introduced in India in 2018 as a hatchback that can travel on both paved and unpaved roads. Notably, this will be the third Cullinan model in Ambani’s garage.

Other businessmen and Bollywood celebrities also drive a similar model. According to the Rolls-Royce website, the Cullinan is the British manufacturer’s first all-terrain SUV.

RIL owns several high-end luxury automobiles. A few years back, it had purchased one of the most sophisticated armoured vehicles for Mukesh Ambani and his wife, Nita Ambani. Apart from the Gloster model’s latest high-end Morris Garage automobiles, the firm has also supplied a BMW to the police officials stationed for the Ambani family’s security.
