    Digital Desk: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced the dates for holding assembly elections in five states, including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram. 

    The election in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases – the first phase of voting will be held on November 7 and the second phase will be held on November 17. 

    Voting for Mizoram assembly elections will be held on November 7 and Voting in Madhya Pradesh will take place on November 17.

    Voting for all 200 Assembly seats of Rajasthan have been scheduled for November 23 and Telangana will vote on November 30.




    Counting of votes in all five states will be held on December 3, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar announced on Monday in a press conference.

    The term of the Mizoram assembly ends on December 17. Meanwhile, the Mizo National Front is in power in the northeastern state. 

    On various dates in January of the next year, the terms of the legislative assembly in Telangana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan will come to an end. While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rules Madhya Pradesh, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) rules Telangana. In Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the Congress is in power.
