In the national capital of Delhi, a domestic LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1,053 and Rs 1,052.50 in Mumbai.
Digital Desk: With effect from Wednesday, July 6, the cost of home 14.2 kilogram LPG cylinders increased by Rs 50. A domestic cylinder weighing 5 kg now costs Rs 18. It is the first-rate hike for domestic LPG cylinders since May.
Domestic LPG cylinder prices increased twice in May, once by Rs 50 on May 7 and once more by Rs 3.50 on May 19.
Delhi, the nation's capital, will now charge Rs 1,053 for a household LPG cylinder. It would set you back Rs 1,052.50 in Mumbai.
A household LPG cylinder would now cost Rs. 1,079 and Rs. 10,68.50 in Kolkata and Chennai, respectively.
In the meantime, on Wednesday, the cost of 19 kg commercial cylinders was reduced by Rs 8.50.
The Opposition parties have criticized the administration for boosting the cost of LPG cylinders for household and commercial use for a while now.
Congress last week slammed the government over high LPG costs, claiming that two Indias have been created: one where few selected are getting richer and the other where the average person cannot afford even one Domestic LPG cylinder refill.
So far, in 2022, the cost of domestic non-subsidized LPG cylinders has jumped by Rs 153.
