Digital Desk: A 5.0 magnitude earthquake hit China's Xinjiang area on Wednesday, as per the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

According to the CENC, the epicentre was recorded at 36.09 degrees north latitude and 77.78 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 10 kilometres.
Earlier, on June 1, a 6.1 magnitude quake hit Lushan County in Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, southwest China.
According to the agency, the epicentre was detected at 30.37 degrees north latitude and 102.94 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 17 kilometres.
Reportedly, the 6.1-magnitude earthquake rattled the city of Ya'an in Sichuan, affecting 14,427 people, as per early statistics provided by local media.
As per the city's earthquake relief center, four persons were confirmed dead and 41 others were injured due to the earthquake that rattled the city.
As per Xinhua, earlier, the city's earthquake relief center had stated that the earthquake injured a total of 13,081 people in Ya'an, but new statistics show that the number has climbed considerably.
As per CENC, an earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale struck the city of Delingha in northwest China's Qinghai Province on April 15.
The epicentre was recorded at 38.52 degrees north latitude and 97.33 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 10 kilometres. However, there were no injuries or fatalities reported due to the earthquake.
Reportedly, a 5.1-magnitude earthquake had shaken Xingwen county in Yibin city in China's Sichuan Province two days prior, on April 13.
Moreover, a magnitude of 6.0 earthquake struck China's Qinghai province on March 26. At 12:21 am, the tremor impacted the city of Delingha in the province. As per China Earthquake Networks Center, the epicentre was located at 38.50 degrees north latitude and 97.33 degrees east longitude, 126 kilometres from the city centre and with a depth of 10 kilometres.
