Digital Desk: Intelligence agencies have warned of possible terrorist attacks against Amarnath yatris. Reportedly, a group of five terrorists is believed to entered Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan or Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and is preparing for a grenade attack on pilgrims on the road that connects Batapora and Sonamarg. Security personnel were informed due to prior reports that were similar to this one.
There are also reports that the ISI, a Pakistani intelligence agency that engages in cross-border terrorism, has directed Lashkar-e-Taiba or the smaller Jaish-e-Mohammed to target informers and Jammu and Kashmir Police officials. The agreement, which would result in resource sharing, can potentially exacerbate the situation in both severely afflicted regions.
