Prophet remarks row: Massive crowd gathers in support of Nupur Sharma in Ahmedabad

After the Jumma Namaz in Ahmedabad on Friday evening, protests over the controversial remarks erupted in the teen Darwaza area. 

Digital Desk: A day after the city experienced major protests over suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma's "inflammatory" remarks about Prophet Muhammad, scores of people gathered on Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway to support her. They held a rally in support of Sharma and "Hindu unity" at the ISKCON Cross Road but were stopped by police.

The protestors presented a letter on the letter pad of the 'Sanatan Seva Sansthan' for the rally, but the police refused to accept it and detained some of them. They reasoned that if Dariapur and teen Darwaza could protest without permission, why couldn't they? However, the cops persuaded them and then released them. After then, the crowd scattered.
