Sourav Ganguly clarifies about the cryptic tweet; plans to launch an educational app

Ganguly's statement must be a sigh of relief for many of his fans around the world who want him to continue as the chief of the Indian cricket board.

Digital Desk: Sourav Ganguly created a stir on social media platforms on Wednesday evening (June 1) after his viral cryptic tweet went viral. In his tweet, the former Indian captain wrote, "2022 marks the 30th year since the start of my journey with cricket in 1992. Since then, cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it had given me the support of all of you. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey, supported me, and helped me reach where I am today."

"Today, I am planning to start something that I feel will probably help a lot of people. I hope you continue your support as I enter this chapter of my life," he added.

Since then, many have speculated about Ganguly's next move, with rumors swirling that Ganguly was going to resign as BCCI President and enter politics. Amid all this, the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah refuting all such reports, said, "Sourav Ganguly has not resigned as BCCI president."

Now, Ganguly has reacted to his tweet by stating that he will not resign as BCCI president. Moreover, he revealed that he plans to launch a new educational app. "I have not resigned. I am launching a new education app worldwide. There is no resignation, nothing," Sourav was quoted as saying.

Currently, Ganguly serves as the BCCI's chief, a position he assumed in October 2019. Under his leadership, the BCCI recently hosted the IPL 2022 edition entirely in India, and the board's overall efforts were lauded by many.

Ganguly's statement must be a sigh of relief for many of his fans around the world who want him to continue as the chief of the Indian cricket board.
