    Digital Desk: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, has retained the top spot in the National Institute Ranking Framework 2023 for the fifth year in a row, while the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has been named the best university, according to the Ministry of Education. IISc Bengaluru came in second in the "overall" category, followed by IIT Delhi.


    Among engineering institutions, IIT Madras continued to hold the top position for a record eight consecutive years. IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay are placed second and third in the category, respectively.


    Miranda House and Hindu College of Delhi University took first and second place among colleges, followed by Presidency College of Chennai.


    IISc Bengaluru was ranked as the best institution for research, while IIT Kanpur was ranked as the best for innovation.


    Among management schools, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad is ranked first, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode.


    In pharmacy, the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hyderabad, has been ranked first. Jamia Hamdard and BITS Pilani are ranked second and third, respectively.


    In the field of law, the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, was ranked first, followed by the National Law University, Delhi, and the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.
