CBSE Board Exams 2024: Special Exam dates later to be given for students taking part in sporting events and Olympiads

Digital Desk: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared that board examinations would take place at a later time for students taking part in international Olympiads and national or international athletic events. 

The dates of the normal Class 10 and Class 12 board exams will follow the conduct of the board exams for students who participated in the aforementioned events. This project aims to support children in engaging in sports and educational activities without sacrificing either.

According to the CBSE, students whose exams fall on the same dates as international Olympiads or national and international athletic events—including travel dates for these events in 2024—will be given new dates to accommodate them.

For players to be qualified to take the special tests, the sport must be recognised by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Conversely, the Olympiads ought to be acknowledged by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).

However, there would be no distinct opportunities for compartment or practical tests in the CBSE 2024 test schedule.

Reportedly, for students to be considered for the special tests, schools must submit applications to the appropriate regional office by December 31. Requests for special exams received after the deadline will not be considered. 

Furthermore, the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education and the Sports Authority of India's suggestions are essential. Students must also get a certificate of participation from the nominated officers of the relevant organisations.

Additionally, CBSE has said that this particular exam will not be used for internal assessments, projects, or practical exams. Additionally, attendance exemptions that exceed the Boards' limitations will not be given.

Students should be informed that they are ineligible to take the special exam if they want to be considered for training or selection camps.

Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education has released a subject-by-subject mark breakdown for all students and instructors to review before the 2024 board exams. 

It is to be mentioned that, anyone who wants to check the division of marks between practical and theory can do so by visiting cbse.gov.in, the CBSE's official website. The marking scheme was created for 83 subjects in class 10 and 121 subjects in class 12.
