Raghuvansh Rajvanshi Murdered; Sonam Still Missing
Sonam said “Ghumne ke chakkar mein vrat thodi tod dungi”

Digital Desk: A romantic getaway to Meghalaya ended up in a terrible crime mystery after a newlywed couple from Indore vanished.  Raghuvansh Rajvanshi and his wife Sonam exchanged vows on 11th May and reached Guwahati on 20th  May for their honeymoon trip. The couple went to Meghalaya just a day after, i.e,  21st May, but since 23rd May, they had been missing.

On 2nd  June, a decomposed body found in a valley near Weisawadong Falls was confirmed to be Raghuvansh. The breakthrough came when police recovered a dao (machete) believed to be the murder weapon and a mobile phone in the depths of the valley. Meghalaya Police have now officially confirmed that Raghuvansh was killed with a machete.

Today, the investigation took another dramatic turn as search teams discovered Sonam's jacket in nearby bushes. Even after the find, her location is still unknown. Search crews are still struggling because of the continuous heavy rainfall.

Adding to the eerie timeline, on 23rd May 23 Sonam had talked to her mother-in-law. The occasion was called Gyaras, which is a common period of fasting. Sonam refused to break her fast despite hiking,  saying she would only end her fast after they got back. The recording shared by the family, she sounded breathless and mentioned they were heading to see a waterfall. Nothing more was said on the matter, and the call ended abruptly.

The couple’s disappearance, Raghuvansh’s death, and Sonam’s unclear fate, Weisawadong Falls which used to attract people with its beauty, now resembles a place of tragic events. No official statement has been given by police, though the events that led to it suggest a sinister plot during the honeymoon instead of a joyful one. People across the country are following progress in the search for Sonam.
