Digital Desk : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin urged External Affairs Minister(EAM) S Jaishankar to secure the release of 17 Tamil Nadu fishermen who were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on Tuesday.
The UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 were conducted nationwide on June 16 at various exam centers. The examination consisted of two papers of Objective type with multiple-choice questions, totaling a maximum of 400 marks.
Digital Desk: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced today, July 1, the results of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations 2024. Candidates who appeared for these exams can access their results on the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
Those who have successfully cleared the Civil Services preliminary examinations will progress to the next stage, the UPSC CSE Mains 2024, followed by the Interview or Personality Test round.
In an official statement, the commission noted that the candidature of these successful candidates is provisional. According to examination rules, all qualified candidates must reapply using Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024. Dates and instructions for filling out and submitting the DAF-I will be communicated in due course on the commission's website.

Previously, the UPSC had outlined that candidates would be selected for the Civil Services (Main) Examination based on achieving a minimum of 33% in General Studies Paper-II and reaching the total qualifying marks in General Studies Paper-I of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination.
Through the UPSC Civil Services 2024 examination, a total of 1056 vacancies across central government services and departments will be filled, including positions in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Police Service (IPS), and the Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Among these, 40 vacancies are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.
