Dil Toh Pagal Hai, directed by the late Yash Chopra, is one of Bollywood's most enduring films. It is regarded as one of the most well-known love triangles in Hindi cinema. It went on to become the highest-grossing film of 1997.

"I never thought the film would change the way dance was seen," choreographer Shiamak Davar said of the film's 25th anniversary. Even at the time, everyone agreed that it had a significant impact on dance in the film industry. Over time, I realized what they meant. I had no idea how much of an impact I had as a choreographer on the film at the time. I am extremely grateful."
