Adil Hussain received the Best Actor award at the UK Asian Film Festival for his work in the film "Footprints On Water", which premiered there.
Tongues on Fire Ltd., a non-profit organization, organizes the UK Asian Film Festival, formerly known as the London Asian Film Festival. It was held between May 4 and May 14, and one of the many attractions was the Adil Hussain film.
The movie also marks Nathalia Syam's directorial debut, and it stars Nimisha Sajayan, Lena, and Danny Sura alongside Adil Hussain in lead roles.
In addition to the best actor award, the film was also named the 'best debut film'.
It should be noted that the film 'Footprints On Water,' starring internationally recognized actor Adil Hussain, was awarded 'Best Debut Film' at the
New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) on May 11.
The NYIFF announced on their official Twitter account on Wednesday, "Celebrating an Extraordinary Journey! 🎥Footprints On Water wins the prestigious title of "Best Debut Film" at NYIFF, as acclaimed by the Film Critics Circle of India. This captivating masterpiece has left a lasting impression, stirring hearts with its profound storytelling and mesmerizing performance."
Earlier, at the UK Asian Film Festival Assam-born director and producer Shiladitya Bora's directorial debut feature film, "Bhagwan Bharose," took home the Best Film award.
According to an official release, the Hindi language coming-of-age drama, based on a story by Sudhakar Neelmani, was the festival's closing film on May 13 at the Kiln Theatre in North West London.
Meanwhile, Shiladitya Bora wrote on Twitter, "My first feature film as Director. My first award. This one is definitely special. ‘Bhagwan Bharose’ wins the BEST FILM at the 25th UK Asian Film Festival, London. Humbled and Hopeful #BhagwanBharoseTheFilm."
