Advance Ticket sales of Vijay's film Leo surpasses Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan
Because of the gap in the average ticket price, Vijay's Leo has grossed less in advance booking...

Digital Desk: Despite the suspense surrounding Vijay's Leo's release in Telugu states and its first showing in Tamil Nadu, Lokesh Kanagaraj's action film has sold the most advance tickets this year.

According to Sacnilk, Leo has already sold 16 lakh tickets and may end up selling 20 lakh tickets before the official release date.

In the process, Vijay's Leo has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which was released last month and is now the top Hindi grosser in India in terms of advance ticket sales.

Jawan has sold 15.75 lakh seats in advance for its first day. The Tamil version of Leo has sold 13.75 lakh tickets, while the Telugu and Hindi versions have sold 2.10 lakh and 20,000 seats, respectively.

However, Leo's earnings are still lower than Jawan's. While Lokesh's film has collected 31 crore so far, Jawan has garnered 41 crore through advance booking. The explanation for this gap is the difference in the average ticket price of both films. On the first day, the average ticket price for Jawan was ₹251, while the price for Leo was ₹202.

The Madras High Court has allowed its earliest programme to begin at 7 a.m., rather than 4 a.m., as asked by the producers.

Given the film's runtime of 2 hours and 43 minutes, a mandated intermission time of 20 minutes, and 40 minutes for cleaning the cinema hall after each screening, the number of shows per day has also been limited to five, between 9 AM and 1:30 AM.

Leo will be released on October 19 in 2D and IMAX in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
