Digital Desk: The film starring Ajay Devgn has become a box office smash. The film is still flying high and winning over audiences in its second week of release. Drishyam 2 has been able to lure cine buffs to the theatres during a period when films are failing to gain an audience at the box office. The film has already surpassed the Rs 150 crore mark and continues to grow by the day.
Drishyam 2 is now competing with Bollywood blockbusters Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Brahmastra this year. The film is projected to exceed the Rs 200 crore mark in the following week. "The second-week collections may end around the 58 crore nett, which would be a 43% dip only, and it has to be seen if this can be repeated or even bettered in week three," Box Office India reports.
Sharing information about the other two films, the report continued, "Drishyam 2 has crossed the 200 crore nett mark, while Brahmastra has crossed the 230 crore net mark. It means Drishyam 2 and Brahmastra will gross more than 200 crore nett, and if Cirkus can achieve the same, there will be three films grossing more than 200 crore nett in 2022, which is not terrible and indicates that box office potential exists. The Kashmir Files is also included, bringing the total to four, albeit it is questionable whether The Kashmir Files can earn 200 crore nett without the help of sponsored shows from corporations and individuals."
'Drishyam' is based on a similar 2021 Malayalam film, and it also serves as a sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam, which was adapted from the same 2013 Malayalam film.
The film, starring Ajay Devgn, is about a loving husband and father who does everything he can to protect his family from police inquiries after the kid of a police officer goes missing. Drishyam 2 tells the narrative of what happened following the mess.
