Akshay Kumar addressed several claims regarding his encounter with PM Modi, his film choices, and the 'Modi bhakt' label...
Digital Desk: Akshay Kumar has worked in every film genre during his three-decade career. Aside from comedy and romance, the actor has been in several sociopolitical films, including his most recent, Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue.
In a recent interview, Kumar finally spoke out about being labelled a 'Modi bhakt.'
In an interview with Times Now, Akshay Kumar stated that he made films on various issues and is not interested in politics. He went on to say that while people criticise him for promoting Swacch Bharat through Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, he also made films like Padman. When asked about his films set during the Congress era, the actor mentioned Airlift and Mission Raniganj. Kumar said, "They only say these things when it suits their narrative."
Akshay Kumar responded to criticism of his interview with PM Modi and his question on mangoes in another interview with India Today.
To clarify, the actor stated that he wanted to see PM Modi's "human side." "I was curious as to why he wears his watch upside-down. I was planning on asking him how much money he had in the bank. I'm not going to question him on policy," the actor added.
On the professional front, Akshay's most recent film was 'Mission Raniganj'. The film is not doing well at the box office, but when compared to other films in the same genre, the rescue thriller is doing well.
