Case Registered Against Shweta Tiwari after her ‘Bra’ statement
Digital Desk: A case was filed against television actor Shweta Tiwari on Friday for allegedly injuring religious emotions with her statement on God, Bhopal police said.

Notably, the complaint was filed against Shweta Tiwari after Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra directed the state police to examine Tiwari’s remark and produce a report.

During her visit to Bhopal to promote her upcoming web series ‘Show Stopper’, she stated that her bra size is taken by bhagwaan.

“Mere bra ki size bhagwan le rahe hai.” (God is taking the measurements for my bra), she said in the event.

Since then, the video has gone viral on social media platforms, with many netizens criticizing her for the derogatory statement about God.

“A case was filed against Shweta Tiwari today under IPC section 295 (A) (deliberate and malicious conduct intended to offend religious sensibilities of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs).” an official of Shyamla Hills police station said.

The case was lodged after Sonu Prajapati filed a complaint alleging that the actress had offended his religious emotions with her remark.

“We’ll bring Tiwari to the police station by sending her a letter in the mail or dispatching a police team to her residence to serve notice.” Prajapati said.

He added that it is a non-bailable offence, but because it carries a sentence of less than seven years, no arrest can be made according to the Supreme Court’s prior directive.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Bittu Sharma said that the star would be formally detained, but as she may get released from police custody, she would have to resolve the matter by a competent court.
