The 95th Academy Awards was held in Los Angeles on Monday morning (Sunday evening US time), where the Indian actress Deepika Padukone commented about her experience on the new champagne carpet before entering the award event.

This year's Oscars downplayed the traditional red carpet in place of the champagne carpet chosen to walk down. The Oscars 2023 presenter Deepika Padukone was interviewed before entering the award ceremony, Deepika was asked how she felt about attending the Oscars, replying to the question she answered, “I’m excited, nervous, and just curious to see what this whole thing is about. I mean, we’ve all grown up watching the Oscars. From the part of the world that we come from, it’s not every day that you wake up going to the Oscars. I’m just taking it all in.”

The Academy has already released the footage of Deepika being interviewed on its social media.

Here's the video of Deepika at the Oscars:

When asked if the Oscars had lived up to the expectations, the actress responded, “I think there’s potential for a lot more but having said that, I think it’s definitely an exciting time for Indian cinema.” Reacting to RRR’s global craze and the triumph at the Oscars itself, Deepika said, “It’s just the tip of the iceberg.”

Deepika ultimately performed RRR's song Naatu Naatu on the Oscars stage for the first time, receiving a standing ovation. The actress wore a black vintage Hollywood. Several followers praised her current fashion decision, with many praising how gorgeous and graceful she looked.

At the Oscars, Indian cinema had a lot to celebrate, with RRR winning Best Original Music for Naatu Naatu and The Elephant Whisperers receiving Best Documentary Short Subject. These are the first two Oscars ever given to Indian films.
