    When the majority of people had abandoned trapped migrant workers, he started by setting up meals, buses, trains, and chartered aircraft for them. In addition to providing them with street food, he organised various modes of transportation for the 45,000 migrants to get back to their homes.

    Sood even allowed medical workers to use his hotel in Juhu, Mumbai, as a COVID-19 clinic to treat nurses, doctors, paramedical staff, and other affected people. The actor also presented 25,000 face shields to Maharashtra police officers as a token of appreciation for their hard effort. Sood arranged buses for the Idli vendors in Tamil Nadu to get back home.



    In recent times, he developed apps and helplines to help in the support and employment of migrant workers. During the second wave, a large number of them who turned to him online for help with oxygen tanks, prescription drugs, and hospital beds believed he was an angel.

    For his charity work, the general public has shown the greatest gratitude. The actor's experience has been very revealing of his compassionate personality, which the general audience has appreciated.

    For his charitable actions during this challenging time, he has won various accolades. Sood was chosen for the "SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award" in September 2020 by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in honour of his humanitarian work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
