It's not divorce but family quarrel" between Dhanush and Aishwarya: Dhanush's father
Digital Desk: Dhanush's father stated in an interview that the split "is not divorce but family quarrel" between Dhanush and Aishwarya

The news of Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth's divorce hit the film industry like a tonne of bricks. When the couple, who had been together for 18 years, announced their split, it crushed many hearts. Reports indicate that the break is not a 'divorce,' but a 'family fight,' days after the couple posted the news on their individual social media sites. Dhanush's father, filmmaker Kasthuri Raja, is said to have dismissed rumours of a divorce in an interview with a media outlet.

According to Indian Express, Kasthuri Raja revealed in an interview that a quarrel caused Dhanush and Aishwaryaa's split. The outlet reported Raja as stating, "It is a family argument that normally occurs between a married couple." According to the source, the pair is currently not in Chennai, but in Hyderabad, and the veteran Tamil filmmaker has given them some advice.

Actor Dhanush and director Aishwaryaa Dhanush, daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, put out a letter on their respective social media handles earlier this week, announcing the end of their 18-year marriage. Dhanush, who was last seen in 'Atrangi Re' with Sara Ali Khan, posted his letter on Twitter, while Aishwarya chose Instagram.

In the letter posted on his timeline, Dhanush said, "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. Om Namah Shivaaya! Spread love!"

Aishwaryaa's letter read pretty much the same except for the last line in which she said: "Much love always to you all! Godspeed."

On Instagram, while posting the letter, Aishwaryaa added: "No caption needed. Only your understanding and your love are necessary!"
