Digital Desk: Actor and Bigg Boss 14 alum Jasmine Bhasin recently endured a severe eye injury caused by her contact lenses. During an event in Delhi on July 17, Jasmine put in her contact lenses but was blinded by them within minutes. The damage was so severe that it affected her corneas, causing her to undergo treatment.

Recalling the unexpected incident, Jasmine told the Times of India that she started feeling pain soon after putting in the lenses, and shortly after, she couldn’t see. “I don’t know what was wrong with my lenses, but after I wore them, my eyes started hurting, and the pain gradually got worse,” Jasmine said.

The condition worsened to the point where Jasmine had to wear sunglasses throughout the event and couldn’t walk without assistance. In a video from the event, she is seen being chaperoned on stage by another girl and later leaving while holding another person’s hand.

Despite her discomfort, Jasmine fulfilled her work commitment before heading to the doctor. On Sunday, the actor shared a health update, stating that she was on the road to recovery. “I wanted to rush to a doctor, but since it was a work commitment, I decided to attend the event and then go to the doctor. I wore sunglasses at the event, and the team helped me manage things because, after a point, I couldn’t see anything,” she recounted.

After the event, Jasmine visited an eye specialist who diagnosed her with corneal damage and bandaged her eyes. “The following day, I rushed to Mumbai and continued my treatment there. I am experiencing a lot of pain. Doctors have told me that I should recover in the next four to five days, but till then, I need to take good care of my eyes. It’s not easy because I can’t see, and I am struggling to even sleep due to the pain. Fortunately, I didn’t have to postpone any of my work. I hope to recover and get back to work in a few days,” Jasmine added.

On Sunday, Jasmine shared an update stating that she was recovering. Her experience serves as a stark reminder of the potential risks associated with contact lenses and the importance of proper eye care.
