Pathaan currently has around Rs 18 crore in advance booking gross on its debut day.
Digital Desk: Pathaan's release date is still a few days away, but the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer is already breaking box office records. The film's advance bookings, which began four days ago, are in full swing. Pathaan has already surpassed the record for the biggest advance booking for an opening day by any Bollywood film since the epidemic, thanks to the tremendous response and high demand for tickets.
Pathaan surpassed the day one advance booking total of last year's hit Brahmastra Part One - Shiva on Sunday afternoon (Rs 17.71 crore). Pathaan currently has around Rs 18 crore in advance booking gross on its debut day.
The majority of those collections are from the Hindi version, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. The Telugu dub, on the other hand, has experienced modest demand, grossing 20 lakh. Pathaan will be released in theatres on Wednesday, January 25. Pre-sales began on January 18 in India, and full advance booking began on January 20.
Given that the film has three full days before its release, trends indicate that the film's day one advance booking gross should comfortably exceed Rs 25 crore. The all-time high for a Bollywood film is Rs 26.90 crore for War, which Pathaan might surpass by Tuesday if all goes well. KGF Chapter 2 holds the record for highest grossing Hindi film.
It's Hindi dub sold 40.65 crore tickets on day one. That sum may be too high for Pathaan, but it is not completely out of reach.
The YRF film's advance bookings have exceeded all expectations. As a result, the film's exhibitors have opened early morning (6am) showing for the first week, which is unusual for Hindi films. Pathaan is part of Yash Raj Films' YRF Spy Universe, which brings together characters from the Tiger and War series. In addition to Shah Rukh, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone play important roles in the film.
