Digital Desk: Recently sources had revealed that the film 'Ramayan,' directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is expected to start filming in December. Following their work in 'Brahmastra,' Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor appear to be cast in the major parts of the highly anticipated film. In the Nitesh Tiwari-directed film, Alia Bhatt will play Goddess Sita alongside her real-life husband Ranbir Kapoor, who will play Lord Ram.
Producers reportedly put the film on hold because they couldn't find an actor to play Ravana, but it now appears that their hunt is done. According to Pinkvilla, the most significant roles will be played by Yash, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor.
According to a Pinkvilla post, Alia was the original pick for Ramayana, but the dates at the time couldn't align for a variety of reasons. However, due to the film's prolonged hold, Nitesh and director Madhu Mantena have decided to stick to their original plan.
"Over the last few weeks, Ranbir Kapoor has been spotted visiting the DNEG office, to check on the progress of Ramayana," a source close to the publication stated. The planet has already been pre-visualized, and the team is currently conducting look tests with Ranbir to play Lord Ram. The visit aimed to obtain the correct look for Ranbir because once he gets it right, he will next step into the physical transformation element."
Meanwhile, one of Alia Bhatt's fan groups attempted to explain why she was the best option for the part. See post here-
Alia was recently seen departing from the RSVP's office after seeing the director. She was spotted hugging and saying farewell to Nitesh before getting into her car.
Alia and Ranbir's debut film together, 'Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva,' was released last year. In the next phase, Alia is to appear in Karan Johar's film 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' soon.
