The number of screens and audience attendance for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar won't be significantly impacted until Ajay Devgn's Bholaa releases on March 30.
Digital Desk: Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar has become only the second Bollywood film of 2023 to cross Rs 100 crore at the worldwide box office.
This feat has been achieved by the movie in six days, which is a commendable feat for a romantic comedy at the current time. The first Monday's revenues did significantly decline, but it is expected that the movie would hold up nicely for another week.
On Monday, the sixth day since its release, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar made Rs 6 crore in India, according to trade sources.
This indicates a 64% decrease from its Sunday revenue of Rs 17 crore. Even though the drop is significant, it was also expected since the first Monday followed a long festive week. With this, the movie's whole net domestic revenue has increased to Rs 76 crore, and its overall gross revenue is now at Rs 112 crore.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will have a free run at the box office for the following two weeks as Pathaan's run is now essentially done and no major Hindi films are coming out this weekend. Zwigato, Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, and Bheed are niche movies that won't likely have a significant impact on Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar's box office results. The number of screens and audience attendance for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar won't be significantly impacted until Ajay Devgn's Bholaa releases on March 30.
Only Shazam: Fury of the Gods, a DC superhero movie, may be able to affect the Ranbir-Shraddha starrer. Tu Jhoothi Main Makaar shouldn't worry too much, though, as the buzz surrounding it isn't as strong as that for Marvel movies and the previous DC movies didn't perform exceptionally well in India. Easily crossing Rs 200 crore should be the film's goal.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, directed by Luv Ranjan, also features cameo appearances from Nushratt Bharuccha and Kartik Aaryan, as well as Dimple Kapadia, Boney Kapoor, Anubhav Singh Bassi, and Monica Choudhary in key parts.
