Pathaan Ticket Booking Row: SRK's film sells 2.5 lakh tickets worldwide, set to gross over ₹300 Crore in first weekend
Pathaan's reservations seem promising, with the film selling more than 2.5 lakh seats in one and a half days...

Digital Desk: The pre-bookings for Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's new film Pathaan were due to start on January 20, Friday, but they opened a day earlier, and the film has already sold over one lakh seats across major cinema chains. Pathaan is expected to earn between 35 and 40 crores in its first week of release on January 25. It is also expected to gross 150-200 crore in India over the first weekend and 300 crores internationally.

According to trade analyst Atul Mohan, 90,000 seats were sold on the first day of advance sale. He went on to say that PVR had sold 35000 tickets, INOX had sold 30000, and Cinepolis had sold 25000 up to 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 19.

"The trend is that advance bookings are strongest on the first day, and then it peaks on the day before release," Atul told the Hindustan Times. We can confidently state that the shows are excellent.

Pathaan is getting four out of five screens at major venues, including Cinepolis, PVR, and INOX." According to reports, the film has sold 15 crore worth of tickets.

Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, stars John Abraham, Shah Rukh Khan, and Deepika Padukone in the key roles.

Pathaan is expected to gross between 150 and 200 crores in its opening weekend, according to film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi. The fact that the film will have a five-day weekend will only help its sales. "Advance bookings were meant to be open on the 20th of January but with anticipation, it opened on Thursday and the premium formats such as IMAX opened a day before. We're hoping the film does well at the box office."

"Purely by the trajectory of the momentum that the film has gotten, and the fact that it will be a working weekday (on the day of Pathaan's release), it might be 35 crore or even beyond that," Akshaye said of his forecast for Pathaan's opening revenues. The trends are generally promising (tier 1 as well as tier 2 cities). Also, because this is a five-day weekend, we could see weekend collections ranging from 150 crore to 200 crore."

Part of the credit for the large revenue figures goes to the fact that Pathaan ticket prices have also been raised. The fact that Shah Rukh Khan returns to the cinema after a five-year absence is, nonetheless, a massive attraction for the film. His most recent film, Anand L Rai's Zero, was released in 2018. Pathaan has all the star power to entice the audience, with celebrities such as Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana marching with the star.
